CNPS Administrative Staff Transitions
CNPS would like to welcome our newest staff member, Laureen Jenson! Laureen will be your contact for all sales including book, poster, and merchandise orders, and sales administration such as invoicing, purchase orders, and inventory management. She will be working with Cari Porter to take over some accounting responsibilities as well. Caroline Garland, who previously managed the sales program, has transitioned into her new position as the CNPS Horticulture Coordinator, and is excited to support your chapter’s horticulture efforts. Feel free to get in touch and say hello!

Insurance and Seller's Permits for Fall Events
Don't forget to request insurance and any seller's permits you will be needing in advance of your fall events! Refer to the admin page of for details and forms, or check out the Event Insurance Information PDF and Seller's Permit Information PDF. Seller's permits have a quick turnaround (though it is best to submit your request a couple weeks in advance), and insurance can take up to 8 weeks for processing. Contact Becky Reilly, , with any questions or to submit a request.

Name Tag Orders Due by August 19
We will be placing another order of CNPS name tags before the September Chapter Council Meeting, so your chapter delegate can pick them up in Fort Bragg. The cost will be around $8 each, depending on how many we order. If your chapter would like more name tags, please send the names and chapter affiliations that need to be printed to Becky Reilly, , by August 19. We will invoice your chapter treasurer once we place the order.

CNPS Wants to Publicize Chapter "How-To" Videos and Photos Statewide
We're making more helpful to users who want to learn about native landscaping, by adding visual aids. We hope to cover everything from planting and pruning to using a sod cutter. If your chapter has any "how-to" videos or photos, or a YouTube channel we can feature, please e-mail Hei-ock Kim at .

Educational Grant Proposals Due by September 30
This fall the CNPS Educational Grants Program is again offering seven research grants for students and researchers. Grant awards are decided by a review committee who determines which grant is appropriate for each proposal funded. All grant proposals must be submitted by September 30th. See for more details about the various CNPS Education Program grant opportunities, application instructions, or to apply. Awards are announced in late November/early December.
